Skills and Knowledge:
How has this course enhanced your knowledge and skills?
The course was fantastic! It was a full weekend of hard work, practical skills, and exams. I learned techniques to keep both myself and my students safe.
How has it impacted your confidence and self-esteem?
Having been a student for nine years and falling in love with the sport, I now have the confidence and skills to help others learn what Polenastics is all about!
Has studying for this course influenced your career goals and aspirations?
Getting funding for the course has been a huge help. In today’s climate, it has allowed me to start teaching a sport I love and help others enjoy it as well, in a community that is welcoming to all.
Are you considering further education or training?
Yes, I would love to take a course on pole silks. This is something not currently offered in the area, and it would provide new opportunities both for myself and for others.

Community Impact:
How do you plan to use this qualification in the community?
I plan to run beginner classes to help students gain strength, confidence, and have fun while getting fit. A bonus is fostering friendships, which can be harder to find as an adult.

Challenges:
What challenges did you face during the course?
Being diagnosed with OCD recently, the biggest challenge was stepping out of my comfort zone. Travelling to London, a new studio, and meeting new people was daunting.
How did you overcome these challenges?
Wanting to teach pole gave me the confidence to step out and earn the qualification.
Overall Impact:
What is the overall impact of the funded course on your personal and professional life?
Professionally, this qualification has equipped me with the skills to teach safely.
Personally, it has shown me that my recent diagnosis doesn’t have to hold me back.
Have you received feedback from clients or customers as a result of this qualification?
I have covered a few lessons and will officially start in January. My current instructor has provided helpful feedback, which has been invaluable.
What advice would you give to others considering similar training opportunities?
Go for it! Whether it’s pole fitness or another sport, physical activity offers so many benefits.
