Karen Hills

Job Title: Aqua Aerobics Instructor

Funded Course / Qualification: Level 2 AquaFit

Karen Hills fell in love with aqua aerobics after she started attending classes at her local leisure centre. With support from the Active Lincolnshire Skills Fund, she was able enroll on a Level 2 Aquafit course. This has enabled her to return to work and pursue her dream of becoming an aqua aerobics instructor.

Hear from Karen about why she did the course, and the challenges involved.

Karen has always enjoyed exercise, but aqua aerobics is particularly special for her, and she was keen to share that experience with others. Having an arthritic right knee Karen understands the challenges of feeling restricted in exercise. Karen’s goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive space where people can exercise, have fun, and improve their overall well-being.

This (course) will hopefully benefit my local community as I’ll be able to put on exercise sessions in the water for people that are restricted with mobility, people that are overweight and and feel conscious about their body.

Karen is now teaching Aqua Aerobics at her local leisure centre and enjoying every minute of it!
