Introduction:
Maddy, a student from King Edward’s Grammar School in Louth, carried out a three-day Marketing work experience placement with Magna Vitae. With an interest in marketing as a potential future career, Maddy spent her time learning first-hand what it’s like to be part of a professional content and marketing team.

Developing marketing skills
Working alongside Magna Vitae’s Content Creator, Maddy was introduced to the full Marketing Team and enjoyed guided tours of leisure venues in Louth and Skegness. Throughout the placement, she gained insight into key marketing functions including social media management, website and app content and digital design.
She was introduced to key areas of branding, brand values and how marketing campaigns are planned and executed
Sophie Browne, Content Creator at Magna Vitae said:
“Maddy demonstrated strong capability and excellent listening skills during her work experience. It was clear she fully engaged with the experience and took a lot from the three days. We’re always proud to offer opportunities like this, giving young people valuable insight and practical experience in the leisure industry.”

One highlight of the experience was watching the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum drone team in action at the Skegness venue—an exciting opportunity to capture behind-the-scenes content and learn how drones are used in planning and evacuations scenarios.
Maddy commented:
“My experience at Magna Vitae has been very positive. I have learnt about video editing and the importance of knowing your audiences in order to create the relevant content. I also learnt the importance of consistency and branding in order to create a good brand identity. Marketing is what I expected however is a lot more time consuming and more detailed than I thought it would be.”
The work experience placement with Maga Vitae has given Maddy a great insight into a potential career, as well as helping her develop key skills, and confidence.
